I started Guide Techly in 2026 because I got tired of three things in the tutorial world:
- Tutorials with screenshots from Windows 7 when you’re on Windows 11 24H2
- “Top 10 free X” listicles that obviously never tested half the tools listed
- Tutorials that skip the exact step you got stuck on
So I built this site as the opposite. Every tutorial here has:
- Current screenshots — captured on the actual current version of the software (date noted at top of post)
- Honest comparisons — I tell you where free tools fall short and when you genuinely need to pay
- No “skip this confusing step” cop-outs — if a step trips people up, I explain it
My background:

- Built and supported Windows, macOS, and Linux environments for 1,000+ end users
- Trained roughly 300 employees on intermediate software workflows
